Tissa from Acme People Search has made some decisions about the referral earnings side of the business.Previously only selected affiliates could earn from their referrals , but now tissa has decided to let everyone earn.Here are the new changes:

You will not get paid for referrals who complete step 1 and 2.
Step 3 commissions will be significantly increased to $10 per referral instead of $3.
For recurring commissions per referral it also has been significantly increased to $10, instead of $4.50.
The average conversion rate has to be 5%, instead of 15% to receive the performance bonus.
If you reach 5% you will earn a $20 commission per active step 3 referral.
To be elegible to receive your commissions you have to subscribe to step 3 for at least 45 days.
Your referrals who complete step 3 have to be subscribed to step 3 for at least 45 days to receive a commission.
There will be zero tolerance for abuse.
You will now receive a commission once you reach $50, instead of $200.

The latest update for Acme People Search is that mylife is no longer a income stream and it will be replaced by trialpay. For anyone who is already a member you will need to login to your acme back office and sign up with trialpay to get your product url.

You then need to enter your trialpay product url in your add affiliate id's section and update.Next you will need to delete your step 2 domain name and re enter your hosting details so your search engine can be updated with the trialpay link. This only applies to people who have completed step 2 and have purchased a domain name through GDI or Hostgator.

There has also been announcement about being a super sponsor in the forum. How To Customize Your ACME People Search Engine.

When you get your search engine from Tissa by completing step 2, you will find that all affiliates have identical looking search engines and you may want to customize the look and feel of your website. To do this I will give step by step instructions on how to easily change colors and add images.

You will need two applications to do this such as a WYSIWYG website builder and also a ftp program such as filezilla to transfer your index.htm file to your computer and vice versa.

If you are going to add images such as a banner, it is best to host them at photobucket, which is a free service where you can upload photos and images from your computer.

You can then open filezilla and put in your hosting information, for example under host you put in your people search website address and under username and password you put in your details that you login with at your web hosting company.

Once connected you will see two split screens, on the left side is your computers files and documents and on the right are the files for your search engine. Firstly double click on the name of your search engine on the right and below you will see a few files. You want to look for the file called index.htm. All you do is click on that file and drag it to your desktop and you should see that file has been transferred.If you are having trouble seeing the image below, just click on it for a larger image.

The next step is to open your website builder and click open file. You will then look for that index.htm file which was located in your desktop. You will then see your search engine come up on the screen and this is where you can customize your search engine.

To place a image, go to photobucket and get the html code for the image or banner that you want to use. Then go back to your website builder and type a few xxx to where you want the image to show up. You can then click view source which is at the bottom of the screen and find the xxx that you put in earlier. Highlight those xxx and insert your html code that you got from photobucket. You can then click on view on the bottom of the page and should see your image on the screen.

To add links to your site is also very easy, just click on the screen, where you want the links to appear and then highlight the word or sentence and click on link, which should be found on the top of the website builder. Then add your url to that link.

Changing colors can be done by going to view source and going through to find background color, this is where you can easily change the background color to whatever you want it to be.

Once you have finished customizing your website click on save and you can then transfer that file back to filezilla. This can be done by going back to your search engine and dragging the updated file back over to your search engines file. A pop up may appear and ask if you would like to overwrite that file, you can then click yes.

Please remember if you customize your blog, you must go to FTP Updates in your ACME back office and click NO, so you still keep the changes you made to your search engine. If for some reason that you forget, you will just have to transfer the index.htm file back to your hosting account.
